our course
The Los Angeles OMS Review Course helps prepare Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for the Oral Certifying Exam. The course is held each year in September to motivate participants to initiate their studies early. A partner discount is also meant to motivate those who register to study together as they prepare.
This is not just a course, but a study club. The Los Angeles Review Course hosts weekly mock exams from September through February via Zoom.
Finally, a 150 page study-guide, comprised of 20 mock cases, is provided to all registrants.

Michael Miloro DMD, MD, FACS
Daniel M. Laskin Professor and Head of Department at University of Illinois Chicago, Editor of “Peterson’s” and “Complications”, Section Editor of JOMS, and a Diplomate and past Examiner of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Miloro is a world-renowned expect on Orthognathic Surgery, TMJ, and Trigeminal Nerve Injuries.

Benjamin Palla DMD, MD
Owner and partner at Westside Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Santa Monica, a reviewer for JOMS with over 20 peer-reviewed publications, and a recent Diplomate of ABOMS. Dr. Palla specializes in complex dental implant treatment. Dr. Palla leads the review course, as well as the weekly Zoom sessions.

Thomas Schlieve DDS, MD, FACS
Program Director at Parkland Memorial Hospital, and fellowship-trained in Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery. Dr. Schlieve is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has international recognition for his treatment of oral cancer, MRONJ, and salivary gland disorders.

Sebastian Graca DDS
A Full-Scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Chicago and a recent Diplomate of ABOMS. Dr. Graca received perfect scores on both the OMSITE and ABOMS examinations. He is a returning lecturer who covers dentoalveolar topics.

Steven Licht DMD
A Pittsburgh native with broad-scope training, Dr. Licht is a highly regarded lecturer on head and neck infections. He is a recent Diplomate of ABOMS. He played Division III football at Washington and Jefferson. He provides an updated review of head and neck infections.

Sam Caruso DMD
An Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon practicing in Atlanta, Dr. Caruso is a recent Diplomate of ABOMS. He practices full-scope surgery in a high volume trauma region. He is a returning lecturer who focuses on comprehensive trauma assessment, approaches, and complications.
